Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern
Local Help for Local People
Volunteer With Us
Our volunteers are the backbone of our organisation. Without them DPVC would not exist. You've probably heard that volunteering is about 'giving something back' and it's true! Our volunteers get just as many benefits from the help they give to others as the people they support. Even if you only have a couple of hours a month, there's always something you can do.
Drivers
Volunteer drivers provide our community transport using the minibus and Volkswagon Caddy. To drive the minibus you will need the D1 category on your licence but the Caddy can be driven by anyone with a clean driving licence.
Befriending Volunteers
Our befriending volunteers can either offer telephone support or face to face. In some cases they do both. A regular visit or call to those who feel isolated or alone can make a huge difference. It's usually a commitment of 1hr per week. A DBS check is required for this role.
General Volunteering
We're always looking for volunteers to deliver our services. Along with the RVS volunteers we have a rota for Soup Lunch, Afternoon Club and Memory Cafe. Even if you can only spare an hour a month you can volunteer for us!
